The Heavy Duty 42 Inch Quad & RTV Roller is a practical tow-behind paddock roller designed for maintaining horse paddocks, grassland, smallholdings and general ground areas.
Designed for towing behind suitable quad bikes, ATVs, RTVs and compact tractors, this heavy-duty roller provides a straightforward way to smooth minor surface irregularities, press down molehills and maintain a more even grass surface.
Its compact 42-inch working width makes it particularly useful where manoeuvrability is important, providing an effective alternative to larger rollers for smaller paddocks, gateways and restricted areas.
The 42-inch width makes this roller a useful choice for horse owners and landowners who need effective ground maintenance without the size of a wider paddock roller.
Its relatively compact dimensions make it easier to manoeuvre around paddocks and through restricted areas while still providing useful ground coverage.
Paired with an appropriate towing vehicle, it provides a simple way to incorporate rolling into routine paddock and grassland maintenance.
Weather, livestock, machinery and general use can gradually leave grassland with molehills, hoof marks and minor surface irregularities. When ground conditions are suitable, rolling can help press these disturbed areas down and produce a more consistent surface.
This makes the 42 Inch Heavy Duty Paddock Roller particularly useful following winter or periods of wet weather, once the soil has dried sufficiently for rolling without causing unnecessary compaction or surface damage.
Regular ground maintenance is an important part of managing equestrian land. The Quad & RTV Roller can be used as part of a wider paddock-maintenance programme to help keep grassed areas level and presentable.
Its compact working width is especially useful for smaller horse paddocks and areas where a large tractor-mounted or wider tow-behind roller may be unnecessarily cumbersome.
The Heavy Duty 42 Inch Roller is suitable for a variety of ground-maintenance applications, including:
This roller is designed to provide a convenient ground-maintenance solution for users who already operate a quad bike, ATV or RTV around their property.
Its tow-behind design means there is no separate engine or complicated drive system to maintain. Simply connect it to a suitable towing vehicle and use it when soil and ground conditions are appropriate.
Always ensure that the towing vehicle, hitch arrangement and operating conditions are suitable for the roller before use.
Paddock rolling is generally most effective when the soil is sufficiently moist for minor irregularities to be pressed down but not excessively wet or waterlogged.
Trying to roll saturated ground can cause unwanted compaction and surface damage, while very dry and hard ground may not respond effectively to rolling.
Spring is therefore a common time for paddock rolling, particularly where winter weather, livestock or mole activity has left the surface uneven.
A larger roller is not always the most practical option. For smaller paddocks and properties using quad bikes or utility vehicles for maintenance, a 42-inch towable roller offers a useful combination of coverage and manoeuvrability.
The narrower working width makes navigating tighter areas easier while still allowing useful areas of grassland to be covered efficiently.

Yes. Horse paddock maintenance is one of its principal applications. It can help smooth minor surface irregularities and press down disturbed ground when conditions are suitable.
Rolling can help press down molehills and loose disturbed soil, particularly when ground conditions are neither excessively wet nor extremely dry.
Rolling is generally most effective when the ground retains enough moisture to respond to pressure but is not saturated or waterlogged. The exact timing will depend on local soil and weather conditions.
It can be used with a suitable compact tractor provided the towing and hitch arrangements are compatible with the roller.

Used it my arena today and I'm very pleased with the result. My quad had enough power to be able to tow this when I had filled with water I had found this an issue with my old roller as it was too heavy when filled but if i didn't fill it up it would bounce around too much this doesn't happen with my new one . Thank you Poshpastures
